San Francisco Golf Courses. Lake Merced Golf Club is rated the best course near South San Francisco. Harding the golf course was designed by Willie Watson who also designed the Olympic Club and opened in 1925.
Lincoln Park opened as a six-hole course in 1909 and later expanded to 18 holes in 1913. The following edited extract by George Waters is from Volume Six of Golf Architecture. There are also another 37 golf courses within 20 miles of South San Francisco including 5 public 18 municipal and 14 private courses.
